Nebraska Soybean Board Long Range Plan
CORE VALUE - The Board with honesty and integrity, collectively and individually, is committed to working within the letter and spirit of applicable law and regulation to achieve maximum value for each Nebraska soybean farmr's checkoff dollar.
PURPOSE- Invest checkoff funds to benefit Nebraska soybean producers.
MISSION - Ensure industry on behalf of Nebraska soybean farmers to maximize utilization of Nebraska soybeans in the feed, energy, industrial and food markets.
STRATEGY - Engage industry on behalf of Nebraska soybean farmers to maximize utilization of Nebraska soybeans in the feed, energy, industrial and food markets.
OBJECTIVES -
1. Utilize 100 percent of Nebraska soybean production annually.
2. Increase profitability per acre.
3. Invest in the development and acceptance of soy technologies.
4. Promote the success of the Nebraska soybean industry through responsible
stewardship while acknowledging global market needs.

How is the Nebraska portion of the Checkoff Money Spent?
The Nebraska portion of the checkoff money is spent in five different areas. Committees are set up in the following five areas.

Research
The goal of the Research Committee is to improve the quality of soybeans grown in Nebraska by funding production research, disease resistance and other research projects that have the potential to utilize more soybeans and improve soybean production.

Producer Education/Communications and Soy Education
The goal of the Producer Education/Communications/Soy Education Committee is to keep producers and the industry informed and up-to-date on the changing technology of the soybean business through a variety of effective communication tools including newsletters, radio ads, videotapes, presentations and tradeshow booths. In addition, educational presentations for school aged children to adults increase consumer information levels regarding soy.

Domestic Marketing
The goals of the Domestic Marketing Committee are to provide information to consumers so they will make a choice to increase soy consumption, through meat export projects, consumer linkage (in store sampling), educating consumers about the health benefits of soybeans in their diets, and the promotion of new products (soy biodiesel) from research to the market place so that industry will merchandise the products to consumers, and industry communication relations with elevators and agri-businesses to the positive benefits of checkoff programs.

International Marketing
The goal of the International Marketing Committee is to increase world-wide soybean consumption through joint projects with the United States Meat Export Federation and the United Soybean Board.
