Soy Sustainability

The Bright FUTURE FOR SOY

Soybeans are an efficient crop to grow, as they require less water and fertilizer than many other crops. Soybeans also play an important role in crop rotation systems, as they help to improve soil health by fixing nitrogen in the soil. Additionally, soybeans can be used to produce a wide range of food and industrial products, which can help to reduce the environmental impact of these products.

Many organizations, including the Nebraska Soybean Board, promote and have helped develop sustainable soybean farming practices and reduce environmental impacts. These practices include: reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides, using conservation tillage methods to reduce soil erosion, and protecting natural habitats and biodiversity. Additionally, many soybean farmers are now using precision agriculture techniques to reduce inputs, such as water and fertilizer, all while increasing yields.
